Wrapping up November

It's been a busy end to November, and I haven't dropped the ball on my 30/30 project.  A quick post of the previous weeks photos.  The week just got away from me a bit, and between busy schedules and a house full of runny noses I didn't get more than a few snap shots this week.  Oh well, it's bound to happen.  I still have several photo ideas in mind that didn't get completed this week- there is always next week.

I snagged the entire family out together for a picture.

Today was cold and snowy, a perfect day for cookies!

Since my husband spent the morning cleaning the kitchen, I thought it would be fun to have the toddler help.  Needless to say, I won myself the task clean-up duty.  Totally worth it.

(I tried something new with the collage as well, I think I like it, although I have to fuss with the setting to get the size right..)

Clickin Moms Blog

deliberate underexposure photoIt is beyond a huge honor to be to have one of my images featured among such amazing work.  My macro rose image was featured on the Clickin' Moms blog today.  I've been a member over on that forum for about a year now, and if you are interested in photography and looking for a good resource, come check it out!

I'm slkenn and the image of the rose was mine.

Thanks Clickin Moms, I'm honored!

The weekend.

It's strange, you would think that the weekend would be easier for me to get photos it, but it's actually not.  It's a different routine, so my camera slipped my mind a bit this weekend.  I had read a tip once for people doing a photo-a-day project which was to shoot something as soon as you get up, that way you have something to fall back on.  This was my Saturday.

Day 16: Morning sky

Day 17: Lunch prep for the week.

Day 18: Her all-time favorite book.  At least for now.

Half of November

How are we already half way through November?  I'm not even sure how that is possible.  These are more of my 30/30 project, which brings me to the half way point!  Eek!

Day 11:  Snow.

Day 12: Baby toes (with a little bonus sock fuzz)

Day 13: Ye-haw.

Day 14: My baby and I

Day 15: Rice cereal, anyone?

A little drama

I was working on capturing dramatic light today.  It might be something I do a little more often.

Other favorites

There are a few other photos from the past week that I really liked but choose not to use for my project.  But I still felt they were worthy of posting here.  :)

Lovin' it

I'm still loving this whole photo a day project.  I needed to put that in writing so I can come back and remember that indeed I started with this great momentum- just in case it declines a bit.
Day 6: the potty chart.  This girl is seriously motivated by stickers and stars and is well on her way out of diapers.

Day 7: Rewards.  A row of stars on that chart earned her a new book.

Day 8: Giggles.  No one can get this guy giggling like dada can.

Day 9: Directional light.  Practicing some directional light to bring out details with my (not quite a real) macro lens.

Day 10: Morning coffee.

The start

I'm off to a good start, and still very enthusiastic about the whole project.  Hopefully that won't fade anytime soon.  The shorter days has me cranking the ISO on my camera, making already thinking about some creative lighting sources for the next few months...  Days 2-5 below:

Day 2: Reaching and grabbing

Day 3: Casting on a new project

Day 4: Baby soft skin

Day 5: My girl and those long lovely lashes

30 before 30

I decided I was going to do a little project.  30 days of photos before my 30th birthday.  My original plan was to have this set be somewhat reflective on the first 29 years of my life, and I guess that is still my intention, but lets get real here, there will be days I'll be happy to get a shot of anything much less something reflective and meaningful.  That said, I'm going to give it a shot.  My intent is also to keep this photo-a-day thing going and roll it into a 365 project (a photo a day for a year).  Yup, I might be crazy, but I actually think I'm ready for the challenge.  But lets not too ahead of ourselves: day 1 of my 30 day challenge.  It feels right to start out with a self portrait.
